Castello di Ama

About the winery

Castello di Amorosa, located in the Diamond Mountain District of Napa Valley, was opened to the public on April 9, 2007, by Dario Sattui, a veteran Napa vintner and owner of V. Sattui Winery. The winery is notable for its impressive medieval castle architecture, which took 15 years to construct, beginning in 1994. The property spans 171 acres, with 30 acres dedicated to vineyards.

Before Sattui's acquisition, the land had a rich history, including ownership by William Houston Nash in the mid-1800s and later by Andre Bosc, who secured the winery permits that allowed for its eventual development. Castello di Amorosa produces nearly 30 different wines, sourcing grapes from both its own vineyards and other esteemed growers, with many wines receiving high ratings from critics.

Visitors can experience guided tours that include tastings and access to various castle areas, including a dungeon with historical artifacts. The winery is popular among tourists, often attracting large crowds, especially during weekends. In 2020, the property suffered damage from the Glass Fire, but restoration efforts were completed by spring 2023. Castello di Amorosa is committed to sustainable practices, with all vineyards certified organic and Napa Green.
